Instructions

1. Open GlobalProtect to connect to the VPN if you are not connected to eduroam or are working remotely. Type in access.umd.edu if asked to enter portal address and click Connect.

2. Log in and authenticate to CAS using your UMD username and password.

 

3. To verify you are logged in, look for the GlobalProtect icon on the lower right corner of your taskbar.

 

4. In the search box, type File Explorer, then select This PC from the left pane.

5. Click Computer and then Map Network Drive.

If Windows 11, look for the “…” icon, then select Map Network Drive:

6. In the Folder box, type the path to the shared network folder. Make sure both “Reconnect at sign-in” and “Connect using different credentials” options both selected. Click Finish.

7. Enter the password and make sure the “Remember my credentials” option is selected. Click OK.
