Teaching Assignments

iSchool Academic Programs (ischoolfacquery@umd.edu) will collect instructor interest in courses 6-12 months before the start of a given semester. Interest is collected via the Teaching Preferences Survey, which is distributed to faculty listservs. Full-time faculty will receive the survey first. Approximately a month afterward, adjunct, affiliate and graduate student instructors will receive the survey. Courses are assigned on a rolling basis, so a prompt response to the survey, when emailed, is important to assure the most options. All individuals filling out the survey must indicate at least 3 course options that will work for them. Several factors influence the teaching assignments, depicted in the graphic below. Questions can be sent to the Academic Programs team by submitting a ticket to the iSchool Academic Programs portal at tinyurl.com/iSchoolAcademicProgramsPortal.
