Using the Mac Mini :

  1. Switch on TV via remote. Make sure TV input is set to HDMI 2.

     

  2. Power on the iMac and log on as Instructor (no password).

  3. Connect to the wireless network by logging on your credentials via “umd-secure” network.

  4. Log on as Instructor on the welcome screen.

     

Connecting a Windows laptop to the TV :


  1. Select TV input source to HDMI 1.

  2. Connect the HDMI cable on to your computer’s HDMI port.

     

  3. Right-click any empty area of your desktop, and then click Screen resolution.

     

  4. Click the Multiple displays drop-down list, and then select Extend these displays,
    or Duplicate these displays.



Connecting a Macbook to the TV :

  1. Select TV input source to HDMI 1.

  2. Simply connect the HDMI cable to your Macbook’s HDMI port or use the HDMI to Mini
    DisplayPort adapter attached at the back of the iMac. Your Macbook should automatically
    detect the additional display and it will act as an extended desktop to your Macbook.

  3. To set the TV as the primary desktop go to System Preferences -> Displays, and in
    the Arrangement sub-menu, drag the small white menu bar box over your Mac's desktop

    window to the larger external monitor's thumbnail. Both screens will automatically
    refresh to the new configuration.


     

  4. To change the resolution of your second monitor, on its settings make sure Display is
    selected, then change "Default for display" to "Scaled" and choose your preferred
    resolution.

     

  5. To set up display mirroring, select “Mirror Displays” in the lower-left corner of the
    Arrangement pane.
